Creating an Altar
to the Goddess Isis
|
| |
| You will be
amazed at how your life may change if you create an altar in your
home and take some time to sit before it each day. You can choose
any number of items to build your altar. A small table and a comfortable
chair or even a space on the floor with a pillow will suffice. Find
the different points in your room that are true to the four directions.
On your altar place a symbol for air in the eastern corner, a symbol
for fire in the southern corner, a symbol for water in the western
corner and a symbol for earth in the northern corner. In the center
place a statue of Isis flanked by candles. A small bell to summon
the attention of the Goddess and any other accouterments that you
consider dear. Isis is a Goddess that offers abundance to those who
worship her. You may wish to choose from one of these lovely statues
of her to place upon your altar. The Goddess Isis will answer your
prayers if you are receptive, but you must always meet her halfway.
It is well if you wish for something for the world before you ask
for something for yourself. |

- Sekhmet,

There
are also Gods to build an altar around:
- There
is Osiris, God of stability and renewal.
- Thoth,
Ibis God of wisdom,
- Anubis,
guardian and protector, or
- Horus,
son of Isis and Osiris, who signifies the finest aspects
of humankind.
